Conteneo’s Strategy Engine is designed to tackle complex, multi-faceted problems — problems that require a thorough understanding of options, actions, and drawbacks of each potential decision. Based on a deliberative collaboration technique pioneered by the Kettering Foundation, Strategy Engine’s online forums create understanding and a foundation for action for in such areas as mergers and acquisitions, corporate strategy, human resources, change management, community/urban planning, labor negotiations and more.
How it Works
Conteneo’s Strategy Engine improves the outcomes of complex decisions by guiding organizations through proven problem-solving processes. Unlike ad-hoc decision making, Strategy Engine frames choices and builds the foundation for collective action through distributed team engagement.
We will work with you to create a structure around your decision-making process and make the options, actions, and drawbacks clear.
We will help you build the foundation you need to make your strategy a reality by helping you include the right people in the discussion.
Unlike other methods, Strategy Engine helps you engage your employees, customers and partners, find common ground, so that you act, together.
What can you do with Strategy Engine?

Understand the methodology that works best by engaging the people affected by the change. Remove the barriers between silos and allow them to learn from each other in the process.
The Birth of Strategy Engine
In this presentation, Amy Lee from the Kettering Foundation describes how Kettering and Conteneo collaborated in the design and implementation of a new collaboration platform to solve wicked problems. Dubbed “Common Ground for Action” for Kettering’s civic engagement work, the same platform is branded as “Strategy Engine” in the private sector.
